Ambiatec has developed technology know-how for ultra-fast sample-to-result PCR workflows, designed for integration into point-of-need cartridges and instruments. Our technology assets are now available for acquisition, licensing and partnering.
What we have developed
Ultra-fast sample preparation
Two complementary approaches to assay-ready nucleic acids in minutes: a "Lyse-and-Amp" protocol that delivers ready-to-use lysates in about two minutes, and a concentrating magnetic-bead preparation for higher sensitivity – both without chaotropic salts, making the workflow simpler and more sustainable.
Ultra-fast PCR, RT-PCR and multiplex RT-PCR reagents
Reagents and reaction chemistry optimised for ultra-fast cycling – for PCR, reverse-transcription PCR and multiplex RT-PCR.
Ultra-fast microfluidic (RT-)PCR
Process know-how for on-chip PCR results in under five minutes and RT-PCR in under eight minutes, developed and tested on an in-house designed fluidic PCR chip.
Assay design guidelines for ultra-fast PCR
Design guidelines for primers and probes optimised for ultra-fast cycling, TaqMan and multiplex concepts, and a prototype assay-design pipeline.
Process automation and system concepts
Automation breadboards, a workflow demonstrator and design requirements for instrument, cartridge and software – from fluidic chip to system mock-up.
Status
The core technical concepts have been demonstrated in the lab, including results concordant with standard laboratory methods on model targets.
