Dr. Holger Engel – Founder & Managing Director

Holger Engel founded Ambiatec Biosolutions in 2021 to develop ultra-fast multiplex PCR technologies for molecular diagnostics. As CEO, he led the company from concept to prototype, covering technology strategy, IP development, fundraising and strategic partnerships.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in diagnostics and life science tools. Through Dr. Holger Engel Consulting, he has advised more than 30 companies on product development, automation and point-of-care systems since 2017, and most recently served as CEO of the allergy diagnostics venture Allergios B.V.

Earlier, he held R&D leadership roles at QIAGEN and, as Reagents Director at STAT-Dx, contributed to the development of the QIAstat-Dx syndromic testing system, later acquired by QIAGEN. He is an inventor on more than 20 patents and patent applications.
